MANUAL MWR AIRFILTERS

The difference between our roadbike filters and racefilters

The foam material of our racing filters have a much more open structure, which makes the protection of a much shorter duration, note: protection is 100% but much shorter, the maintenance frequency is so high that these filters are NOT suitable for roadbikes
Our roadbike filters have a maintenance frequency of once a year, regardless of the mileage. Stick to this so that the foam cannot dry out and the protection for the next year is 100% insured.

In countries around the Equator with extremely high temperatures and extremely high humidity, road bike filters must be serviced at least twice a year to keep the filter "wet" from filteroil . Racebike filters can handle the same maintenance frequency as normal. Only MWR Airfilter oil may be used because this oil is biodegradable and therefore also resistant to backfire
So …. very simple, the red filters are for the road bikes and black filters are for the track & race bikes
Below you can read again the differences between all our filters as described on our website

The difference between the different type of MWR Airfilters in details

1)The Performance airfilter , exelent performance and max. protection . No copy of the std. filter , always searching for solutions , either it’s the performance , protection or fitment . Caution: clean and re-oil at least once a year with MWR airfilteroil & cleaner .  In countries around the Equator with extremely high temperatures and extremely high humidity, road engine filters must be serviced at least twice a year.
Remapping the ECU or the Fuel Control Module is recommended.

2) The High Efficient airfilter : for road & race bikes , designed for inletnoise reduction . The revolutionary High Efficient Airfilter is designed to reduce intake noise and yet more power to deliver . This design of airfilter has shown a reduction of up to 8db of intake noise compared to other sportsfilters.
Unlike all other sportsfilter all inlets will get with this High Efficient Airfilter the same quantity of air, regardless the speed of the motorcycle or wind directions . No different fuel-mappings between internal & external or front & rear cilinders are needed , this will be achieved by tuning each cylinder seperate . Caution : clean and re-oil at least once a year with MWR airfilteroil & cleaner . In countries around the Equator with extremely high temperatures and extremely high humidity, road engine filters must be serviced at least twice a year. Remapping the ECU or the Fuel Control Module is highly recommended.

3) The Full Race airfilter , developed on the track , developed for racebikes NOT for roadbikes , NOT on a dyno but in real life , bikes with Dataloggers for the ultimate performance due to new materials and design , protection is on the same level as the filters above , only for a shorter time . Unlike any other sportsfilter all inlets will get with this Full Race airfilter the same quantity of air , regardless the speed of the motorcycle , wind directions or the turbulence of the fairing . No different fuel-mappings between internal & external or front & rear cilinders are needed , this will be achieved by tuning each cylinder separate . Caution : The Full Race airfilter protects for 100% but for a short period of time , check afther each raceweekend your filter , use only MWR filteroil & cleaner . Make sure you start each raceweekend with a well oiled filter . This airfilter is not developed to reduce the inletnoise . Remapping the ECU or the Fuel Control Module is highly recommended.

4) WSBK Full Race airfilter: With the corporation of KHI , KRT , MV Agusta and several other top teams in MotoGP , WSBK , BSB & WSS600 we developed a new style , very exclusive customized airfilter for track and racebikes , NOT for roadbikes , which increases the filtersurface enormously . The shape of the filter is "adapted" to the airbox to make it as big as possible , one of the reasons why we can't make the WSBK filter for every bike . We are able to increase the filtersurface from 50 - 100% , depending on the type of bike.
More & bigger surface means less restriction , a better protection and the performance increase is in this case enormously.
All WSBK filters are handcut handcut and handglewed.
These new style WSBK filters are build with two different kind of foam materials . One part is foam material used for our roadbikes , the rest is the foam material for the full racefilters . The roadmaterial is placed on a conscious place to create the same effect as the splitterplate on our “HE” & “R” filters.
Remapping the ECU or installation of a fuel module is necessary
For the fueling you need to approach the same way as with our "HE" & "R" filters . This means tune each cylinder seperate and secondairy injectors seperate from the main injectors.Caution : The Full Race airfilter protects for 100% but for a short period of time , check afther each raceweekend your filter , use only MWR filteroil & cleaner . Make sure you start each raceweekend with a well oiled filter.

Guidelines for maintainance of the MWR Airfilters

The MWR roadbike filters have a maintenance frequency of once a year, regardless of the mileage. Stick to this so that the foam cannot dry out and the protection for the next year is 100% insured.

In countries around the Equator with extremely high temperatures and extremely high humidity, road engine filters must be serviced at least twice a year. Racebike filters can handle the same maintenance frequency as normal. Only MWR Airfilter oil may be used because this oil is biodegradable and therefore also resistant to backfire

How to clean & oil the MWR filters:

1)    If needed , remove the plate from the filter and immerse the filter in MWR airfilter cleaner for 30 minutes.

2)    Wash the filter in hot water with dishwashing soap

3)    Rinse the filter well with water untill all soap is out

4)    When the filter is completely dry, spray the filter with MWR airfilter oil on both sides (filters with aluminum frames) . Immediately afterwards massage with both hands . Filters, which you can disconnect from the filter cage, immerse in the filter oil and then squeeze the oil out, never wring the filters.

5)    Only MWR Airfilter oil may be used because this oil is biodegradable and therefore also resistant to backfire
